Human Interferon alpha-7 (IFNA7) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of Human Interferon alpha-7 (IFNA7) in human research samples. The assay is reactive with human samples and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It is specific for natural and recombinant human Interferon alpha-7, and the target protein is annotated as a secreted interferon (UniProt P01567) with a reported molecular weight of 22,107 Da. IFNA7 is described as a type I interferon produced by macrophages, with antiviral activity mediated through stimulation of a protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase, and is implicated in immune responses to viral infection as well as in autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.

Manufacturer-quoted performance characteristics include a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 8.4pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.8% and an inter-assay CV of 7.5%. Reported recovery averages 95% (range 89-101%) in serum and 97% (range 91-103%) in plasma. Linearity data are provided across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. The kit is intended for research use only.
