About Interferon Alpha 21 (IFNa21)

IFNa21 is a type I interferon subtype encoded by the IFNA21 gene on chromosome 9, contributing to antiviral innate immunity and downstream cellular signaling cascades. This Assay Genie sandwich ELISA is calibrated specifically against the human IFNa21 sequence, enabling subtype-resolved quantification in studies of viral infection, autoimmune disease, inflammation biology, and oncology research workflows.

Assay Performance

Reported detection range is 15.6 to 1000 pg/mL, with analytical sensitivity below 7.8 pg/mL. A 100 µL sample volume is loaded per well, and the standard protocol completes in approximately 3.5 hours at room temperature. Capture and detection antibodies are raised against recombinant human IFNa21, with no significant cross-reactivity observed against closely related IFN-alpha subtypes such as IFNa2, IFNa7, or IFNa14.

Kit Contents and Storage

Supplied as a microplate pre-coated with capture antibody, together with lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, concentrated wash buffer, TMB substrate, and stop solution. Store all unopened reagents at 2-8 °C and protect the TMB substrate from light. Unopened kits carry a shelf life of 6 months from the date of receipt when stored refrigerated. Serum and plasma specimens should be aliquoted upon collection, with repeated freeze-thaw cycles avoided prior to running the assay.
