The Human Integrin Alpha 2 (ITGa2) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative detection of ITGA2, the alpha subunit of the VLA-2 (CD49b) collagen-binding integrin. ITGA2 heterodimerizes with integrin beta 1 to mediate cell adhesion to collagens I, III, and IV, and is implicated in platelet aggregation, fibroblast activation in fibrotic disease, and tumor cell migration in glioblastoma and hepatocellular carcinoma models.

All reagents are shipped on blue ice and the unopened kit should be stored at -20°C; reconstituted standards and detection antibody are best kept in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The plate-based format uses a human-specific capture antibody to support studies on collagen receptor signaling, extracellular matrix biology, thrombocyte function, and cancer invasion pathways.
