Human Insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA is designed for the quantitative detection of human Insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1) in research samples. It is reactive with natural and recombinant human IRS1 and is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The kit is intended for research use only and is supplied for cancer-related research applications.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.168ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.8%, and an inter-assay CV of 11.2%. Linearity across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 (N=5) is reported as 93-114% for serum, 99-118% for EDTA plasma, and 88-117% for heparin plasma. Recovery averages 86% (range 80-92%) for serum and 88% (range 82-94%) for plasma.

IRS1 is a key adaptor protein and a major substrate of the insulin receptor kinase. It contains multiple tyrosine phosphorylation motifs that serve as docking sites for SH2-domain-containing proteins such as phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase p85 subunit and GRB-2, and is phosphorylated on serine/threonine residues by kinases including JNK and IKK. Dysregulation of IRS1 has been implicated in metabolic disorders such as diabetes and obesity, as well as in cancer and cardiovascular disease.
