Human Inositol oxygenase (MIOX) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a sandwich ELISA for the quantification of human inositol oxygenase (MIOX), with detection by a colorimetric ELISA readout. The kit is validated for human reactivity and is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Specificity has been confirmed against natural and recombinant human inositol oxygenase.

Manufacturer data state a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL. Reported intra-assay CV is 5.8% and inter-assay CV is 10.3%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2 to 1:16, and recovery averages 103% in serum (range 97-109) and 105% in plasma (range 99-111).

MIOX is a cytoplasmic oxidoreductase belonging to the myo-inositol oxygenase family and participates in the inositol catabolic process, with reported aldo-keto reductase activity, ferric iron binding, inositol oxygenase activity and oxidoreductase activity acting on single donors with incorporation of molecular oxygen. The human ortholog maps to chromosomal location 22q13.3 (NCBI Gene ID 55586; UniProt Q9UGB7), and the protein has a molecular weight of 24,516 Da. The kit is supplied for research use only.
