Description

Assay Genie supplies a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of human inosine triphosphate pyrophosphatase (ITPA). The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for research use only, supporting cell biology studies where ITPA levels are relevant to cellular energy balance and to conditions such as viral infections and autoimmune disorders.

The kit has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It provides a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.22ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 3.9% and an inter-assay CV of 7.8%. Specificity is demonstrated against natural and recombinant human ITPA. Recovery averaged 107% (range 101-113%) in serum and 109% (range 103-115%) in plasma. Linearity was tested at 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions, ranging 83-123% in serum, 100-117% in EDTA plasma and 89-116% in heparin plasma.

ITPA is a cytoplasmic homodimeric pyrophosphatase (UniProt Q9BY32) that hydrolyses non-canonical purine nucleotides including inosine triphosphate (ITP) and deoxyinosine triphosphate (dITP) to their monophosphate derivatives, helping to exclude these nucleotides from RNA and DNA precursor pools.
