Inhibin beta A chain is a secreted dimeric protein belonging to the TGF-beta family. Inhibins and activins inhibit and activate, respectively, the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland, and the protein is involved in regulating diverse functions such as gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, and erythroid differentiation. Dysregulation of inhibin beta A chain levels has been linked to conditions including infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome and various reproductive disorders, and the kit is indicated for cancer research applications.
