The IMPG2 gene encodes interphotoreceptor matrix proteoglycan 2, a chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan that contributes to the structural organization of the retina's interphotoreceptor matrix. This scaffolding molecule supports photoreceptor viability and has been implicated in inherited retinal degenerative conditions including retinitis pigmentosa and cone-rod dystrophy. Investigators in ophthalmic genetics, retinal disease biology, and visual neuroscience rely on quantitative measurement of IMPG2 in human specimens to study expression patterns, carrier status, and potential biomarker correlations. The Assay Genie microplate-based assay ships with reagents recommended for storage at -20 °C and remains stable through multiple freeze-thaw cycles when properly aliquoted. Capture antibodies are pre-coated onto the strip plate, while biotinylated detection reagents and calibrated protein standards are supplied for building a standard curve. Each pack supports research use only and includes a TMB substrate, stop solution, wash buffer concentrate, and adhesive plate seals. Reconstituted standards and working detection antibody should be used promptly or kept refrigerated in single-use aliquots to preserve binding activity. The workflow is compatible with standard laboratory plate readers and enables comparison of IMPG2 levels across patient cohorts and matched controls.
