Inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase 1 (IMPDH1) is the rate-limiting enzyme in de novo guanine nucleotide biosynthesis, catalyzing the NAD-dependent oxidation of IMP to XMP and thereby controlling cellular GTP pools that support lymphocyte proliferation and myeloid differentiation. This Assay Genie quantitative immunoassay is validated for research use only with samples from human donors.
The kit supports investigation of immune cell regulation, transplant pharmacology with mycophenolic acid monitoring, and ophthalmic disease mechanisms linked to IMPDH1 variants associated with autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa (RP10). Researchers studying purine metabolism in oncogenesis and antiviral response pathways also use this target to characterize nucleotide biosynthesis dysregulation in vitro and in cell culture models.
Upon receipt, refrigerate the kit and equilibrate reagents to room temperature before initiating the protocol. The kit provides a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, recombinant standards, and wash buffer sufficient for a full plate run.
