Human Immunoglobulin A (IgA) ELISA Kit

This sandwich-format immunoassay from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of Immunoglobulin A (IgA) in human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. IgA is a key antibody in mucosal immunity, and abnormal levels have been associated with autoimmune diseases, infections and inflammatory conditions, making it a valuable biomarker for disease diagnosis and monitoring. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is reported to deliver high sensitivity and specificity for natural and recombinant human IgA.

Performance figures quoted by the manufacturer include a detection range of 62.5–4000 pg/mL, a sensitivity of 31.2 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.6% and an inter-assay CV of 9.1%. Linearity in serum at dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 spans 86–116%, with EDTA plasma at 98–127% and heparin plasma at 96–110%. Spike-and-recovery averages 102% in serum (range 96–108%) and 104% in plasma (range 98–110%). The kit is intended for research use only within the immunology research area; decreased or absent IgA, termed selective IgA deficiency, is described as a clinically significant immunodeficiency.
