This colorimetric immunoassay from Assay Genie quantifies the human soluble interleukin-6 receptor (IL-6 sR, also called sIL-6R or gp80) in cell culture supernatants, plasma, and serum samples. The kit ships with reagents sufficient for 96 assays and is intended for in vitro research use, supporting work in cytokine signaling, trans-signaling pathways, and biomarker discovery relevant to inflammation, autoimmune disease, and cancer biology. By measuring the cleaved and alternatively spliced soluble form of IL-6Rα, researchers can distinguish trans-signaling activity from classical membrane-bound IL-6 signaling.
