Human IL-6 ELISA Kit

Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative determination of Interleukin 6 (IL-6) concentrations in human serum, plasma, blood, cell culture supernatant, and other biological fluids and tissues. The assay uses a double antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection, delivering a sensitivity of 2.813 pg/ml and a measuring range of 4.688–300 pg/ml.

Validated recovery performance across matrices includes serum (average 99%, range 92–103%), EDTA plasma (average 94%, range 87–104%), and UFH plasma (average 96%, range 90–104%). Linearity was demonstrated through serial dilution testing: serum samples showed 88–105% at 1:2, 85–91% at 1:4, and 93–101% at 1:8; EDTA plasma showed 82–99%, 82–100%, and 86–94%; UFH plasma showed 85–100%, 80–98%, and 80–91% across the same dilutions.

IL-6 is a key cytokine involved in immune regulation, promoting proliferation and differentiation of activated T and B lymphocytes and macrophages, and supporting B cell production of immunoglobulins IgM, IgG and IgA. As an important biomarker of immune system activity, IL-6 has implications in cancer, autoimmune disease, and sepsis. Elevated concentrations may be observed in rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and during bacterial or viral infections, where IL-6 contributes to the immune response against these pathogens.
