Description

A high-quality sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human IL-5RA (CD125). The kit uses a double-antibody, colorimetric detection format and is intended for research applications in cell biology, supporting studies of immune regulation, eosinophil biology, and related inflammatory or allergic disease mechanisms.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a working range of 78.125–5000 pg/mL, with validated use on serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions is given as 85–104% for serum, 88–103% for EDTA plasma, and 87–102% for heparin plasma, while spike recovery averages 97% in serum, 93% in EDTA plasma, and 96% in heparin plasma. All reagents are stable for 12 months when stored at 2–8°C.

The workflow follows a standard sandwich ELISA: equilibrate reagents and load standards, samples and blanks for a 90-minute incubation at 37°C; add biotinylated detection antibody for 60 minutes at 37°C; incubate with HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes; develop with TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes; and read absorbance at 450 nm after adding stop solution. IL-5RA (CD125) is the alpha subunit of the interleukin-5 receptor and plays a critical role in eosinophil differentiation and activation, making it a relevant biomarker for research into inflammatory and allergic disease.
