Human IL-4 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody kit for the quantitative measurement of human interleukin-4 (IL-4). The assay is colorimetric and is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with a reported sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a working range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL (1 pg = 29 mIU).

The protocol uses a pre-coated microplate; standards and samples are incubated at 37 °C, followed by a biotin-labelled detection antibody, HRP-Streptavidin binding, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution. Kit components should be stored at 2–8 °C, and unopened kits are stable for 12 months under those conditions.

IL-4 is a cytokine that promotes T-helper 2 cell differentiation and stimulates B cell growth and antibody production; altered IL-4 levels are linked to allergies, autoimmune disorders, and inflammatory conditions, making the kit relevant to research into these areas.
