Human IL-1A/IL-1 alpha ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human IL-1A (IL-1 alpha) in research samples. Using a double-antibody sandwich format, the assay targets a key proinflammatory cytokine that plays a critical role in the immune response and in inflammatory processes, with dysregulation linked to autoimmune diseases, cancer, and inflammatory conditions.

The assay is suitable for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types, offering a sensitivity of 2.344 pg/mL and a standard range of 3.906–250 pg/mL (1 pg = 160 mIU). Reagents are stored at 2–8 °C for 12 months. The procedure follows a stepwise workflow: reagent and plate preparation, primary incubation at 37 °C, biotinylated detection antibody binding, HRP-streptavidin binding, TMB colour development in the dark, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after addition of stop solution.

Reported linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions falls within 85–105% for serum, 84–101% for EDTA plasma, and 80–101% for heparin plasma. Recovery ranges from 85–105% across the same matrices, with averages between 94–98%. The analyte is classified as a cytokine and is also known as IL1A, IL-1F1, Hematopoietin-1, and Pro-Interleukin-1-Alpha (UniProt P01583).
