Human IL-18 ELISA Kit (HUEB0024)

A Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of human Interleukin-18 (IL-18) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, and other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with human samples, shows specificity for natural and recombinant human IL-18, and is supplied for research use only.

Manufacturer-reported performance values include a detection range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL, sensitivity of 10 pg/mL, intra-assay CV of 4.7% and inter-assay CV of 8.5%. Linearity in serum (N=5) was 103-113% at 1:2, 101-112% at 1:4, 109-119% at 1:8 and 110-120% at 1:16; EDTA plasma (N=5) gave 102-112%, 102-113%, 100-110% and 91-103% across the same dilutions; heparin plasma (N=5) gave 112-112%, 92-103%, 92-104% and 96-108%. Spike-and-recovery experiments showed an average of 109% (range 103-115%) for serum and 111% (range 105-117%) for plasma. Kit components are shipped at +4°C and stored at -20°C.

IL-18 (UniProt Q14116; NCBI Gene ID 3606; molecular weight 21,896 Da) is a secreted cytokine of the IL-1 family, also referred to as Iboctadekin, Interferon gamma-inducing factor, Interleukin-1 gamma, IFN-gamma-inducing factor, IL-1 gamma, IGIF and IL1F4. The protein augments natural killer cell activity in spleen cells and stimulates interferon gamma production in T-helper type I cells. The kit is intended for immunology research.
