Beyond standard quantification, the Assay Genie Human IL-13 PharmaGenie ELISA Kit enables researchers to measure the Th2-associated cytokine interleukin-13 in cell culture supernatants, EDTA plasma, and serum. IL-13 drives IgE class switching, goblet cell hyperplasia, and airway remodeling, making it a relevant biomarker in asthma, atopic dermatitis, and parasitic infection studies.

The pre-coated microplate uses matched capture and detection antibodies in a biotin-streptavidin amplified sandwich configuration. Users pipette 100 µL of standard or sample per well, and a recombinant IL-13 standard curve spans 31.2 to 2000 pg/mL for interpolation of unknown concentrations. Reported sensitivity is typically below 7.8 pg/mL, with intra-assay CV under 10% and inter-assay CV under 12% across validations.

Reagents ship ready-to-use apart from the wash buffer concentrate and lyophilized standard, which require brief reconstitution. Reconstituted standards should be aliquoted and frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles; remaining components are stored at 4°C between uses, with the sealed plate protected from light.
