Human IL-11 ELISA Kit (HUEB0017)

A sandwich ELISA developed by Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Interleukin-11 (IL-11) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit recognises natural and recombinant human Interleukin-11 and is intended for research use only within the immunology field.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 3.9 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.7% and inter-assay CV is 6.2%. Linearity for serum (N=5) spans 90-102% at 1:2 to 102-112% at 1:16; EDTA plasma spans 90-100% to 104-113%; and heparin plasma spans 107-119% to 108-118% across the same dilutions. Recovery in serum averages 100% (range 94-106%) and in plasma averages 102% (range 96-108%). The associated UniProt accession is P20809.

IL-11 is a secreted cytokine belonging to the IL-6 superfamily that directly stimulates proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and megakaryocyte progenitor cells and induces megakaryocyte maturation, supporting increased platelet production. It signals through a receptor complex formed by IL6ST with either IL11RA1 or IL11RA2, activating intracellular kinases and leading to phosphorylation of STAT3.
