The IKB-b protein, encoded by the NFKBIB gene, is a cytoplasmic member of the IκB inhibitor family that sequesters NF-κB transcription factor complexes in resting human cells. Upon pathway activation, IKK-mediated phosphorylation triggers IKB-b proteasomal degradation, releasing NF-κB to translocate into the nucleus and induce genes controlling inflammation, immunity, and cell survival. Quantitative IKB-b tracking supports research into inflammatory disease, oncogenic signaling cascades, and immune cell activation models. Assay Genie's PharmaGenie ELISA kit measures human IKB-b/NFKBIB through a colorimetric microplate-based protocol, with each kit supplying materials for 96 assays in a single-use microplate configuration. Applications are limited to research use only, and the kit serves laboratories investigating NF-κB pathway dynamics, inhibitor screening, and cytokine response studies.
