Human IGJ/Immunoglobulin J chain ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantification of human Immunoglobulin J chain (IGJ), also known as JCHAIN, the joining chain of multimeric IgA and IgM. The kit reacts with human samples and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It is specific for natural and recombinant human Immunoglobulin J chain and is intended for research use only.

The assay uses a sandwich ELISA format with a colorimetric readout at 450 nm, and the protocol covers sample handling, incubation steps and the working reagents provided. According to the manufacturer source, the detection range is 1.56-100 ng/ml and the sensitivity is 0.56 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery values are provided with the kit. The IGJ protein is a secreted polypeptide with a signal peptide, located at chromosomal region 4q21 and functioning extracellularly; it links two monomer units of either IgM or IgA, contributes to IgM pentamer formation and larger IgA polymers, and helps bind these immunoglobulins to secretory component.

Component storage temperatures listed include the ELISA microplate (8×12 strips), lyophilized standard, sample diluent, assay diluents A and B, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealer, with the wash buffer, substrate and stop solution stored at 4°C and the remaining components at -20°C. A microplate reader with a 450 nm filter is required.
