Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA is designed for the accurate quantification of the human IgG receptor FcRn large subunit p51 (FCGRT) in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay detects both natural and recombinant human FCGRT, with reactivity confirmed for human samples, and is supplied for research use only.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.098 ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is 4.8% CV and inter-assay precision is 9.1% CV. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Recovery averages 98% (range 92-104%) in serum and 100% (range 94-106%) in plasma.

FCGRT (also referred to as FcRn, FCRN, or the neonatal Fc receptor) is a single-pass type I membrane protein that binds the Fc region of monomeric IgG and mediates the selective uptake and transcytosis of IgG across epithelial barriers, as well as the transfer of IgG from mother to fetus. Dysregulation of this receptor has been implicated in autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases and other immune-related disorders, making it a relevant target in immunology research. The associated UniProt entry is P55899.
