Insulin-like growth factor binding protein 7 (IGFBP-7) — also known as IGFBP-rp1, MAC25, and angiomodulin — is a secreted glycoprotein widely studied in nephrology, oncology, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic research. This colorimetric immunoassay from Assay Genie is configured to quantify the analyte in human research samples and is supplied as a complete 96-assay reagent set, including a pre-coated microplate, matched antibody components, calibrated standards, substrate solution, and wash buffer sufficient to develop the full plate.

The protein modulates IGF receptor signaling and exerts IGF-independent effects on cellular senescence, angiogenesis, and tumor-suppressive pathways. IGFBP-7 has attracted biomarker interest in acute kidney injury research, type 2 diabetes mellitus, chronic heart failure, and several solid tumor contexts, including renal cell carcinoma and breast carcinoma, supporting its translational research value across both basic and clinical workflows.

Use of the kit is validated across blood-derived sample types of human origin, including serum fractions and plasma fractions, and across conditioned cell culture media, so investigators can compare in vitro and clinical sample results on the same standardized assay platform. As part of the PharmaGenie reagent line from Assay Genie, components are lot-controlled to support reproducible longitudinal studies and inter-laboratory comparison of IGFBP-7 concentrations.

Reagents are supplied with a printed protocol describing recommended dilutions, incubation periods, and specimen-handling steps for IGFBP-7 quantification. Following the enzymatic reaction, absorbance is read on a standard microplate spectrophotometer, and results are interpolated against the supplied standard curve to yield analyte concentration values for each specimen.

Typical research applications include biomarker discovery, oncology pathway investigation, renal injury research, metabolic and cardiovascular disease profiling, and evaluation of IGFBP-7 as a candidate marker for disease stratification, prognostic modeling, or treatment-response studies.
