Human IFT81 ELISA Kit (HUFI03841)

This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie measures intraflagellar transport protein 81 (IFT81) in human research specimens. IFT81 forms a heterodimer with IFT74 within the IFT-B trafficking complex and is essential for cilium assembly, tubulin delivery to the ciliary tip, and intraflagellar cargo movement.

Loss-of-function mutations in IFT81 cause ciliopathies including short-rib thoracic dysplasia, retinal degeneration, and overlapping phenotypes with Bardet-Biedl syndrome and nephronophthisis. Investigators studying cilia-related disease mechanisms, hedgehog pathway signaling, photoreceptor outer segment maintenance, and renal tubular epithelial function rely on reliable IFT81 protein quantification to characterize tissue-specific expression and treatment responses in disease models.
