ID3 is a helix-loop-helix (HLH) transcription factor that acts as a dominant-negative regulator of basic HLH partners, controlling cell cycle exit, lymphocyte lineage commitment, and angiogenic programming. Dysregulated ID3 expression is implicated in Burkitt lymphoma, adult T-cell leukemia, glioblastoma, and pulmonary hypertension, making quantitative measurement valuable for both mechanistic and translational research.
