Human Hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA synthase, cytoplasmic (HMGCS1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA synthase, cytoplasmic (HMGCS1). It is suitable for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant human HMGCS1.

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.053ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 5.2% and an inter-assay CV of 9.4%. Linearity across dilutions (1:2 to 1:16) is reported as 95-120% for serum, 90-113% for EDTA plasma and 96-114% for heparin plasma. Recovery averages are 107% (range 101-113%) for serum and 109% (range 103-115%) for plasma.

HMGCS1 is a cytoplasmic enzyme involved in the mevalonate pathway and cholesterol biosynthesis, where it condenses acetyl-CoA with acetoacetyl-CoA to form HMG-CoA, the substrate for HMG-CoA reductase. The kit is listed for cardiovascular research and is for research use only.
