The HVCN1 target, also known as Hydrogen Voltage-gated Channel 1 or HV1, is a 273-amino-acid voltage-gated proton channel encoded on human chromosome 12q24.11. It is expressed most strongly in phagocytic cells (neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, macrophages) and in B lymphocytes, where it sustains NADPH oxidase activity during the respiratory burst, repolarizes the membrane after depolarization, and supports B-cell receptor signaling. Researchers use quantitative measurement of HVCN1 protein in clinical specimens to study innate immune activation, autoimmune disorders such as multiple sclerosis and lupus, chronic inflammatory disease, and ion channel biology in lymphocytes.

This kit from Assay Genie is supplied as a microplate with all reagents required for quantitative detection of human HVCN1, including a human-specific capture antibody coated onto the wells. The assay is intended for research use only and should be refrigerated at 4 °C upon arrival. Reconstituted standard and diluted samples should be kept frozen at -20 °C or below in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve immunoreactivity. The microplate format supports batch processing of standards, QC controls, and unknown specimens in a single run, with an absorbance-based read-out allowing comparison against a freshly prepared standard curve on each plate.
