Description

A Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Hepatic Triacylglycerol Lipase (HTGL). The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for use with human samples including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

Linearity across dilution ratios of 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 was 89-101%, 93-100%, and 94-104% for serum (n=5); 82-100%, 85-96%, and 93-100% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 80-98%, 81-98%, and 81-91% for heparin plasma (n=5). Recovery ranges were 87-104% (average 94%) for serum, 85-104% (average 94%) for EDTA plasma, and 90-102% (average 95%) for heparin plasma. The kit should be stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

HTGL is an enzyme involved in lipid metabolism, specifically the hydrolysis of triacylglycerols in the liver. Dysregulation of HTGL has been linked to metabolic disorders including obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, making it a useful biomarker for research in these areas.
