Description

A high quality Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie for the in vitro quantitative determination of Human HSPA8 (Heat Shock 70kDa Protein 8) concentrations in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. HSPA8, also known as Hsp70, is a constitutively expressed molecular chaperone involved in maintaining protein folding and cellular homeostasis, and plays a key role in the cellular stress response and protein quality control. Dysregulation of HSPA8 has been linked to various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases, highlighting its importance as a potential therapeutic target and biomarker for disease progression. The kit uses a Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody detection method and is read with a microplate reader at 450 nm.

Performance characteristics reported for this kit include a sensitivity of 0.188ng/ml and a range of 0.313-20ng/ml. Spike-and-recovery testing in serum (n=5) gave 85-103% (average 91), in EDTA plasma (n=5) gave 87-104% (average 96), and in UFH plasma (n=5) gave 85-98% (average 93). Linearity by serial dilution was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 in serum (88-103%, 92-102%, 92-105%), EDTA plasma (82-95%, 90-99%, 87-97%) and UFH plasma (84-100%, 92-98%, 80-99%). Precision was reported as Intra-Assay CV<8% and Inter-Assay CV<10%. The kit is intended For Research Use Only and is stored at 4°C for 6 months. Kit components include a dismountable ELISA Microplate (8×12 strips), Lyophilized Standard, Sample/Standard Dilution Buffer, Biotin-labeled Antibody (Concentrated), Antibody Dilution Buffer, HRP-Streptavidin Conjugate (SABC), SABC Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution, Wash Buffer (25X) and Plate Sealer.

HSPA8 belongs to the heat shock protein 70 family, with 2 isoforms of the human protein produced by alternative splicing (UniProt P11142). NCBI summary: the gene encodes a member of the heat shock protein 70 family referred to as heat-shock cognate proteins, functioning as a chaperone that binds nascent polypeptides to facilitate correct folding and as an ATPase in the disassembly of clathrin-coated vesicles during transport of membrane components through the cell.
