Quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie for measuring HPS3 protein concentration in human blood-derived specimens such as serum, EDTA plasma, or heparin plasma, supporting laboratory research into Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome and related disorders. HPS3 encodes a subunit of the BLOC-2 complex that drives biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles, including melanosomes in melanocytes and dense granules in platelets, and reduced or absent HPS3 expression has been linked to oculocutaneous albinism, bleeding diathesis, and the pulmonary fibrosis that develops in some HPS patients. The assay uses a colorimetric microplate workflow with all critical reagents supplied in a single-use reagent set sufficient for ninety-six determinations per pack, including pre-coated wells, detection antibody, recombinant standards, enzyme conjugate, wash buffer, chromogenic substrate, and stop solution. Reagents should be kept refrigerated upon receipt, brought to room temperature before each run, and protected from light where indicated on the vial labels.
