Description

HOMER2 (Homer Scaffold Protein 2) is a cytoplasmic scaffolding protein that couples group I metabotropic glutamate receptors and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors at postsynaptic densities, regulating dendritic spine morphology and intracellular calcium release. The encoded protein is required for normal auditory inner hair cell ribbon synapse formation, retinal ON-bipolar cell signaling, and skeletal neuromuscular junction maturation.

Altered HOMER2 expression has been reported in studies of noise-induced hearing loss, certain psychiatric endophenotypes, and several cancer cell lines. This quantitative Assay Genie immunoassay enables researchers to measure endogenous HOMER2 protein levels in human specimens, supporting investigations into synaptic plasticity, neuronal development, cochlear pathophysiology, and neurodegeneration research.

The 96-assay kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, capture and detection antibodies, calibrated recombinant standards, wash buffer concentrate, and chromogenic substrate. Store all components at the temperatures listed in the enclosed protocol to preserve antibody activity through the stated shelf life; protect substrate reagents from light when not in use.
