Human Histone H2A.x (H2AFX) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit enables quantitative detection of human Histone H2A.x (H2AFX) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay employs a colorimetric detection method and is specific for natural and recombinant human Histone H2AX, with the target protein localised to the nucleus and chromosome.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 39.7 pg/mL. Intra-assay precision is 6.1% CV and inter-assay precision is 8.3% CV. Linearity has been validated across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery in serum averages 100% (range 94-106%) and in plasma averages 102% (range 96-108%).

Histone H2A.X is a variant of conventional H2A found in a subset of nucleosomes, where it plays a central role in DNA damage response and repair, including checkpoint-mediated cell cycle arrest following low-dose ionising radiation and efficient repair of DNA double-strand breaks when modified by C-terminal phosphorylation. Dysregulation has been linked to cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, supporting its value as a research biomarker.
