Description

A high-quality sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie enables the precise measurement of Human Histidine-rich glycoprotein (HRG) in human biological samples. The kit detects natural and recombinant human HRG and is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The target, also known as Histidine-proline-rich glycoprotein and HPRG, is a secreted plasma glycoprotein (UniProt P04196).

Performance specifications include a detection range of 12.5-800ng/mL, a sensitivity of 5.6ng/mL, an intra CV of 4.7%, and an inter CV of 8.2%. Recovery data report averages of 99% (range 93-105%) for serum and 101% (range 95-107%) for plasma. Linearity was assessed by serial dilution of spiked samples: serum (N=5) ranged from 89-99% to 107-117% across dilutions, EDTA plasma (N=5) ranged from 82-92% to 99-111%, and heparin plasma (N=5) ranged from 85-95% to 108-117%.

HRG binds ligands such as heme, heparin, heparan sulfate, thrombospondin, plasminogen, and divalent metal ions, and acts as an adapter protein implicated in immune complex and pathogen clearance, cell chemotaxis, cell adhesion, angiogenesis, coagulation, and fibrinolysis. It modulates angiogenesis by blocking the CD6-mediated antiangiogenic effect of thrombospondins THBS1 and THBS2, and is involved in tumor angiogenesis and tumor immune surveillance. The kit is for research use only.
