Human High mobility group protein HMG-I/HMG-Y (HMGA1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the detection of human High mobility group protein HMG-I/HMG-Y (HMGA1). The assay is reactive with human samples and uses an ELISA-based detection method, with a reported detection range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.039 ng/mL.

Performance characteristics include an intra-assay CV of 4.1% and an inter-assay CV of 7.2%. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, with the kit showing specificity for natural and recombinant human HMGA1. Recovery in serum averaged 83% (range 80–89%) and in plasma averaged 85% (range 80–91%). Linearity was demonstrated across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 for serum (88–116%), EDTA plasma (81–119%) and heparin plasma (91–123%).

HMGA1 (UniProt P17096) is a non-histone DNA-binding protein that preferentially binds the minor groove of A+T-rich regions in double-stranded DNA, with described roles in nucleosome phasing, 3'-end processing of mRNA transcripts, and transcription regulation of genes containing or near A+T-rich regions. The kit is intended for research use only and is suited to studies in epigenetics and nuclear/chromosomal biology. Alternative names include High mobility group AT-hook protein 1, High mobility group protein R, High mobility group protein A1, HMG-I(Y) and HMGIY.
