Human High-density lipoprotein (HDL) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with human samples.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 125-8000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 61 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is reported at 4.3% and inter-assay CV at 7.5%. Linearity was evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with results across these matrices ranging from 82% to 121%. Recovery averaged 98% in serum (range 92-104%) and 100% in plasma (range 94-106%). The kit detects natural and recombinant human HDL and is intended for research use only.

HDL is one of the five major groups of lipoproteins — chylomicrons, VLDL, IDL, LDL, and HDL — which enable lipids such as cholesterol and triglycerides to be transported within the water-based bloodstream. In healthy individuals, approximately thirty percent of blood cholesterol is carried by HDL.
