Human High Affinity Choline Transporter (ChT) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie immunoassay kit enables quantitative measurement of the Human High Affinity Choline Transporter (ChT), also known as SLC5A7, in research samples. ChT is the sodium-dependent presynaptic choline transporter found on cholinergic nerve terminals, where it mediates high-affinity choline uptake to sustain acetylcholine biosynthesis in the central and peripheral nervous systems.

Investigators use the kit to evaluate ChT protein levels in cell lysates and tissue homogenates prepared from human brain regions such as cortex, hippocampus, and basal forebrain, as well as from spinal cord, skeletal muscle, and cultured neuronal or transfected cell lines.

Common research applications include studies of cholinergic neurotransmission, neuromuscular junction signaling, and neurodegenerative disease models involving cholinergic deficit, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and myasthenia gravis. The kit is also used in schizophrenia-related research, attention and memory circuit studies, and pharmacological evaluation of cholinergic agents and neurotoxins.

Each kit is supplied in a microplate format providing reagents for 96 assays and is intended for research use only. Standard laboratory plate readers are used to capture the chromogenic readout, with absorbance measured at the wavelength specified in the protocol. Kit components should be stored refrigerated upon receipt and protected from contamination until use.
