Description

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of Human Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins A2/B1 (HNRNPA2B1), also listed under the synonyms hnRNP A2/B1 and HNRPA2B1. The kit is a colorimetric ELISA intended for research use only and is reactive with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. Reported specificity covers natural and recombinant human HNRNPA2B1.

According to manufacturer data, the assay has a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.12ng/mL. Precision values are given as an intra-assay CV of 4.3% and an inter-assay CV of 8.3%. Linearity in serum (N=5) at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 was 106-116%, 90-100%, 109-118% and 106-116% respectively; EDTA plasma (N=5) gave 106-115%, 89-98%, 91-101% and 99-110%, and heparin plasma (N=5) gave 94-104%, 91-100%, 98-106% and 96-108%. Average recovery is 101% (range 95-107%) for serum and 103% (range 97-109%) for plasma.

HNRNPA2B1 is associated with RNA metabolism and splicing regulation. The target corresponds to UniProt P22626, with a predicted molecular weight of 37kDa and NCBI Gene ID 3181. The protein is reported in the literature to package nascent pre-mRNAs into hnRNP particles, to transport specific mRNAs in oligodendrocytes and neurons via the A2RE motif, to bind single-stranded telomeric DNA repeats, and to act as a nuclear reader of the N6-methyladenosine (m6A) mark on pri-miRNAs. In the context of microbial infection, it has been described as involved in the transport of HIV-1 genomic RNA from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. Isoform A2 is described as predominantly nucleoplasmic, with cytoplasmic localisation also reported in some tissues. The kit is grouped under the Epigenetics research area.
