Heparanase (HPA) is an endo-β-D-glucuronidase that cleaves heparan sulfate side chains on heparan sulfate proteoglycans, regulating extracellular matrix turnover, growth factor release, cell migration, and angiogenic signalling. Aberrant HPA activity has been implicated in tumor invasion, metastatic spread, chronic inflammation, diabetic complications, and autoimmune disease, making quantitative measurement of the enzyme a frequent need in cancer biology and immunology laboratories. This Assay Genie quantitative immunoassay kit provides researchers with a complete reagent set for measuring human heparanase in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and cell culture supernatants. The assay uses capture antibodies pre-immobilised on a microplate; bound analyte is detected with a biotinylated secondary reagent, streptavidin–HRP, and a chromogenic substrate that produces an absorbance change proportional to HPA concentration. The kit is supplied in a 96-assay microplate configuration suitable for running standards, controls, and samples together, with enough wells for full experimental replicates. It is intended for in vitro research use only and the supplied components should be refrigerated on arrival and used within the stated shelf life to preserve antibody binding activity and enzyme conjugate performance.
