Human Hemojuvelin (HFE2) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of Human Hemojuvelin (HFE2) in human serum, plasma, and other biological samples. Hemojuvelin acts as a bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) coreceptor; through enhancement of BMP signalling it regulates hepcidin (HAMP) expression and iron homeostasis, making it a valuable biomarker for research into iron-related disorders such as hereditary hemochromatosis.

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and reports a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.22ng/mL. Precision is characterised by an intra-assay CV of 3.1% and an inter-assay CV of 6.9%. Linearity has been validated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across serial dilutions, with recovery averaging 95% in serum (range 89-101%) and 97% in plasma (range 91-103%). The kit is reactive with human samples, recognises natural and recombinant human Hemojuvelin, and is supplied for research use only.
