Heat shock 70 kDa protein 8 (HSPA8), also called HSC70, is a constitutively expressed molecular chaperone belonging to the HSP70 family. It assists nascent polypeptide folding, facilitates protein translocation across membranes, directs misfolded substrates toward proteasomal degradation, and supports clathrin-mediated endocytosis. Dysregulation of HSPA8 levels has been documented in neurodegenerative disease, ischemic injury, tumor progression, and autophagy-related disorders, making accurate quantification of the protein in human specimens a frequent need in biomedical research.

This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie is configured to measure HSPA8 in serum-derived samples, plasma-derived samples, and prepared tissue homogenate fractions. The kit is supplied in a 96 assay format, providing microplate wells for standard curve replicates and unknown sample testing. Researchers studying chaperone biology, cancer biomarker discovery, or cellular stress pathways commonly rely on ELISA measurements to track HSPA8 expression alongside complementary methods such as western blot and immunohistochemistry.

The assay produces a colorimetric readout compatible with standard microplate readers, and each kit includes pre-coated wells, detection antibody, recombinant standards, and assay buffer sufficient to process a full plate. Refrigerated storage of unopened kit components preserves reagent activity through the stated shelf life; reconstituted standards should be aliquoted and stored frozen to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
