HCST, also known as DAP10 or KAP10, is a 12-kDa transmembrane signaling adaptor that pairs with the NKG2D activating receptor on natural killer cells and CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes, triggering downstream PI3K and Grb2 cascades. Quantitative measurement of this immunoreceptor component is increasingly used in research on innate immunity, tumor immune surveillance, viral pathogenesis, and transplant tolerance.
