Human hCG PharmaGenie ELISA Kit (SBRS0665)

The hCG assay targets human chorionic gonadotropin, a heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone composed of alpha and beta subunits. The capture antibody is directed against the beta subunit, which is structurally unique to hCG and avoids cross-reactivity with the homologous pituitary hormones LH, FSH, and TSH that share an identical alpha sequence.

Investigators apply this Assay Genie kit to quantify hCG in trophoblast and choriocarcinoma cell culture supernatants, maternal serum or patient plasma, and related specimens. Common research uses include studies of placental development, recurrent pregnancy loss, preeclampsia, gestational trophoblastic disease, and monitoring of testicular germ cell tumors that secrete hCG as a tumor marker.

Quantitative results are reported in mIU/mL, the standard unit for chorionic gonadotropin in reproductive biology. The supplied microplate is pre-coated and the workflow is intended for research use only.
