Human Haptoglobin (HP) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie Human Haptoglobin (HP) ELISA Kit is a Sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of haptoglobin in human samples. It is suitable for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, and detects natural and recombinant human haptoglobin. The assay is read using a colorimetric method and is intended for research use only, with applications including cardiovascular research. Haptoglobin is a plasma glycoprotein that binds free hemoglobin to prevent oxidative damage and renal filtration, while the uncleaved form, also known as zonulin, plays a role in intestinal permeability and the equilibrium between tolerance and immunity to non-self antigens.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 3.12-200ng/mL and a sensitivity of 1.56ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.4% and inter-assay CV is 7.3%. Dilutional linearity in serum ranges from 90-118% across serial dilutions of 1:2 to 1:16, with EDTA plasma ranging from 88-118% and heparin plasma from 103-121%. Recovery averages 102% in serum (range 96-108%) and 104% in plasma (range 98-110%).
