Human Haptoglobin ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of haptoglobin in human biological samples. Haptoglobin is a protein that binds free hemoglobin, preventing oxidative damage and promoting tissue repair, and abnormal levels have been associated with hemolytic anemia, inflammation, and cardiovascular disease, supporting its use as a biomarker in immunology research.

The kit uses a double-antibody sandwich ELISA format with colorimetric detection. It is reactive with human samples and validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Storage is at 2–8°C for 12 months. The associated UniProt entry is P00738.

Linearity testing in serum (n=5) showed 91–105% at 1:2, 85–105% at 1:4, and 87–100% at 1:8; in EDTA plasma (n=5) 89–101%, 82–100%, and 83–100%; and in heparin plasma (n=5) 80–93%, 92–100%, and 85–100%. Recovery was 85–97% (average 90%) for serum, 89–105% (average 97%) for EDTA plasma, and 86–103% (average 94%) for heparin plasma. The kit includes a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilized standard, biotin-labeled detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate (SABC), TMB substrate, sample and antibody dilution buffers, SABC dilution buffer, stop solution, wash buffer (25X), plate sealer, and a technical manual.
