Human HADHA ELISA Kit (HUFI03992)

HADHA (hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase trifunctional multienzyme complex subunit alpha) is the alpha subunit of the mitochondrial trifunctional protein (MTP), an enzyme complex anchored to the inner mitochondrial membrane that catalyzes three sequential steps in the beta-oxidation of long-chain fatty acids. The mature protein has a reported molecular weight of approximately 83 kDa and is expressed in tissues with high oxidative demand such as liver, cardiac muscle and skeletal muscle.

Research applications supported by this Assay Genie kit include studies of inherited fatty acid oxidation disorders, most notably long-chain 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase (LCHAD) deficiency and generalized trifunctional protein deficiency, both caused by mutations in the HADHA gene. The kit is also used in metabolic research related to mitochondrial dysfunction, pregnancy-associated complications such as HELLP syndrome, and investigations of hepatic lipid handling.

For the assay workflow, prepared samples are added to pre-coated microplate wells alongside standards and controls; the standard protocol uses a 100 uL sample volume per well. Human-specific capture and detection antibodies ensure selective quantification of the target analyte with minimal off-target cross-reactivity in serum-derived and plasma-derived matrices.
