The GULP1 quantitation immunoassay from Assay Genie is an in vitro research use only kit built around a microplate format and intended for laboratories investigating the cell biology of apoptotic cell clearance. GULP1 (PTB domain-containing engulfment adapter protein 1) acts as a cytoplasmic adaptor that couples engulfment receptors on phagocytes to downstream signaling, and altered GULP1 expression has been reported in work on macrophage biology, foam cell formation in atherosclerotic lesions, and neuronal responses to amyloid exposure.

The assay provides a tool for measuring human GULP1 in cell lysates and cleared supernatant fractions, supporting studies that compare GULP1 levels between treated and untreated phagocyte cultures, between disease and control donor samples, or across developmental time courses in animal models. Researchers working on efferocytosis, LRP1-mediated uptake pathways, and neurodegeneration use this kind of measurement to test whether candidate interventions modulate GULP1 expression or shedding.

Sufficient reagents are provided to run the microplate in single-use wells as needed, and standard curve samples are included for interpolation of unknown concentrations. The kit is shipped for research use only and should be handled according to the enclosed protocol; refrigerate on arrival and protect components from light to preserve reagent activity through the stated shelf life.
