The Human GTF2H5 ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of the GTF2H5 protein, a small subunit of the general transcription factor IIH (TFIIH) complex also known as TFB5 or TTDA. GTF2H5 plays a critical role in nucleotide excision repair (NER) and basal RNA polymerase II transcription, and pathogenic variants in the encoding gene are associated with trichothiodystrophy, a rare photosensitive DNA repair disorder. This kit uses a two-antibody capture and detection format applied to a pre-coated microplate, with calibration standards and detection reagents supplied in ready-to-use vials. Investigators studying TFIIH subunit composition, NER pathway function, or photosensitivity biomarkers in translational dermatology and genomics research will find the assay a practical tool for protein-level quantification. Reconstituted standards should be stored frozen at -20 degrees C and protected from light, while the microplate and detection antibody remain stable at 4 degrees C over the stated kit shelf life. Each pack contains one 96-well strip plate, biotin-conjugated detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate, wash buffer, and substrate solution. The standard protocol uses a 100 µL sample volume per well and is validated specifically for human GTF2H5 detection in cell lysate and tissue homogenate preparations. For research use only; not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
