Human GSTA1/Glutathione S Transferase Alpha 1 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA (Double Antibody) assay designed to measure GSTA1 (Glutathione S-Transferase Alpha 1) levels in human samples, with reactivity confirmed for human specimens. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and provides a detection range of 0.625-40 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.375 ng/mL. It is intended for cell biology research and is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months. GSTA1 is a key enzyme involved in the detoxification of electrophilic compounds, playing a crucial role in cellular defense against oxidative stress and carcinogens, and dysregulation of GSTA1 has been linked to various diseases including cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions.

The procedure uses a pre-coated plate with standard, test sample and control (zero) wells. Standards, samples and blanks are incubated at 37°C for 90 minutes, followed by biotin-labeled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, stop solution addition, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm. Linearity was demonstrated in serum (88-103%, 88-102%, 86-105%), EDTA plasma (84-100%, 82-92%, 85-96%) and heparin plasma (85-98%, 87-94%, 80-98%) at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions. Recovery ranged from 87-105% (serum, average 95%), 86-105% (EDTA plasma, average 96%) and 93-104% (heparin plasma, average 98%).
