Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA is built on a double-antibody configuration and is calibrated for the quantification of human Growth hormone receptor (GHR) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Detection is colorimetric, with HRP-Streptavidin signal amplification and TMB substrate development, and absorbance is read at 450 nm. The kit is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

The assay reports a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL across a measuring range of 0.781-50 ng/mL. Reported dilution linearity for serum (n=5) is 89-103% at 1:2, 87-105% at 1:4, and 86-104% at 1:8; EDTA plasma (n=5) gives 87-99%, 82-100% and 83-101% across the same dilutions, while heparin plasma (n=5) gives 81-93%, 82-98% and 80-99%. Spike-and-recovery in serum (n=5) is 85-104% with an average of 98%, 91-104% in EDTA plasma (average 99%), and 93-105% in heparin plasma (average 99%). The procedure uses a 90 minute primary incubation at 37°C, a 60 minute biotinylated detection antibody incubation, and a 30 minute HRP-Streptavidin incubation, before 10-20 minutes of TMB colour development in the dark. The assay is referenced to UniProt entry P10912.

Marketed for cell biology research, the kit supports the study of a receptor central to growth-hormone signalling and implicated in conditions such as acromegaly and dwarfism. Listed synonyms include GHR, GHBP, Growth hormone receptor, GH receptor, growth hormone binding protein, serum binding protein, and Somatotropin receptor.
