Human Growth/differentiation factor 2 (GDF2) ELISA Kit

Reactivity is human, and the assay detects both natural and recombinant human GDF2 with high specificity.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.78–50 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.34 ng/mL. Precision values are an intra-assay CV of 5.7% and an inter-assay CV of 10.4%. GDF2 is described as a potent circulating inhibitor of angiogenesis that may be involved in bone formation; it signals through the type I activin receptor ACVRL1 but not other Alks, and SMAD1 signaling in endothelial cells requires the TGF-beta coreceptor endoglin (ENG).
