Human Gremlin-2 (GREM2) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of human Gremlin-2 (GREM2). It is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, and is specific for natural and recombinant human Gremlin-2 (UniProt Q9H772). The assay is intended for research use only.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.056 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.2% and inter-assay CV is 8.1%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16, with values ranging from 94-123% in serum, 97-117% in EDTA plasma, and 86-117% in heparin plasma. Recovery averages 103% (range 97-109%) in serum and 105% (range 99-111%) in plasma. Detection is colorimetric, with absorbance measured at 450 nm.

Gremlin-2 is a secreted homodimeric cytokine that functions as a bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) antagonist, inhibiting BMP2 and BMP4 in a dose-dependent manner. It contributes to the regulation of embryonic morphogenesis and antagonizes BMP4-induced suppression of progesterone production in granulosa cells. Dysregulation of Gremlin-2 has been linked to cancer, fibrosis, and other disease processes, supporting its use as a biomarker in research.
